How statements work
How members seek, and receive, statements on matters of public concern.
1. Request by a member
A member may request a statement on a matter of general public concern, such as a local emergency or the delivery of a public service. The request is made in the House with the Speaker's approval, within the arrangements set by the Standing Orders.
